Dan Brown, ‘The Da Vinci Code’
For our first meeting we met at Leanne’s place to discuss the ‘da vinci code’ and the world of medieval/catholic/masonic conspiracy theories evoked therein.
Admittance required knowledge of some kind of masonic handshake or at least performance of some type of pagan ritual (saying ‘g’day, how are you’ qualified as a pagan ritual particularly if you were wearing thongs).
The weather and leanne and libbys food were great. Common comments on the book were not so complimentary. The broad consensus was that it had little literary merit and no character development but nevertheless was good fun due to the plot and and all the weird but fascinating historical detail and religious conjecture.
